About Me

I grew up with two brothers, both younger than me, which gave me a sense of being a "mommy" from a very early age. My parents were both very involved in raising us and were my inspiration to be a good parent as well. My parents have been married for 31 years and have always been the fairy-tale pair, showing my brothers and me that we didn't ever have to settle for less than we deserve.
In 2007, I married my best friend. A man who is funny, handsome, intelligent and incredibly supportive of every crazy idea I have, my husband is Prince, well, not Prince Charming, but he sure is wonderful!
After losing our precious daughter Charlotte in 2008, we decided to not let that derail our plans for a family and in October 2009, we welcomed Natalie into our family. In 2011, we welcomed Caitlin, and our family was complete!
In 2014, I became a divorcee, which wasn't a great experience, but now I am forging ahead one day at a time, as a single working mother.
Eternally blessed for reasons I have yet to understand, I am a remarkably optimistic person considering that depression has been a part of my life, as well as significant loss. I think I've learned that while I cannot control anything that happens in my life, I CAN control how I react and respond. There is nothing so horrible that I can't move on and be happy. There is something positive to be found wherever we look...
I have a strong desire to reach into my inner self and find the links to folklore and mythology - I have another blog I am trying to use to express these thoughts based on the book "Women Who Run with the Wolves" by Clarissa Pinkola Estes... if you are interested in checking that out, it is at www.womanrunningwithwolves.blogspot.com
on that page, I will discuss more of the professional side of my life, from losing jobs to finding my path and everything in between...
